Im having a really hard time remembering what day is what so this is just a bit of a mix of the last 3 days. Kinda just a bit of random pictures and comments with them. The tour has been great so far meeting lot of cool people and having an awesome time. But with that comes some burning legs lol.
This day was a bit frustrating but the people i was with were great at laughing it off. We were ridding in a group of 7 of us and we managed 6 flats and 2 blown tires. This particular picture was taken right after we were in a paceline. I was leading the line and then everyone heard a "psssssssssss" (my tire blowing) so we all day "slowing" and pull off to the side. Jenna, at the back of the pack got a flat at the exact same time and then hit a bump or something on the road and she ended up rolling off her bike. Marc was right behind her and ran over her back tire. Jenna ended up getting a bit of road rash but was ok. We spent about 20 minutes re-adjusting tires and doing temperary patch jobs on tires and then we were all back on the road. Most of us were pretty impressed Jenna kept riding. That was her 3rd flat of the day and she went down pretty hard.
Couldnt resist
This is the gun that was used. (see following picture) the nice guy let us all hold it and we are a bunch of canadians that dont know what its like. lol.
At one point in our ride we were stoping to look for a place to go swimming, (we look for places to go swimming like... all day) We walked off the road beside a canal and right after an overflow spot was this deer. It had 3 broken legs and the first like... 5 inches of one of its legs wasnt attached anymore. Alex called around to find someone to kill it and no one would do it so eventualy we went to a local farmer and got him to come out and shoot it.
This picture was after we found the deer and were waiting for locals to come and shoot it. John and i decided it was a good idea to climb this rock. Then we decided it would be fun to throw things from it. Good times.
We also did some cliff jumping this week and that was deffinitely the best day. Me, John, Alex and Theo stoped on the side of a canyon road and walked down to some cliffs and jumped. It was incredible. Probably about a 50ft drop. Some people on the tour got some good pictures of it but i havnt located them yet. Ill post them later.
so im doing good, my legs burn a bit especialy after taking breaks and then getting going again. i eat like crazy and im still always hungry. its pretty exhausting, cycling in the crazy hot sun. yesterday i slept for 3 hours in the afternoon and then 10 hours lastnight and im still tired. its hard to find any downtime. there is always fun stuff to do. like rock faces to jump off and freezing cold water to swim in.
thanks so much for your prayers and support.
